Android P Volume Controls For MIUI 9
In this video, I have tried android p volume controller in MIUI 9 device its working fine and it will give you other extra panels to makes changes to volume controls like phone calls etc.

If your device hangs or hardware button doesn't work then uninstall this application for settings and lock it in the background to work it properly.
